A New Perspective on the Urban and Natural Landscape
The Riverline development, in Setúbal, represents an architectural exercise where formal lightness and modernity are combined with the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape to create a distinct urban landmark, without disrupting it. Located within a consolidated urban fabric, the project benefits from privileged views over the Sado estuary, the Tróia peninsula, and the majestic Arrábida mountain range.
This project stands out for its strong horizontality and formal elegance, with large glazed balconies that function as true living spaces, in constant dialogue with the landscape. Its architectural language gives it a contemporary yet restrained presence, capable of transitioning between the urban fabric and the surrounding nature, reinterpreting the relationship between living and contemplation.

Miguel Saraiva
Founder and CEO of Saraiva + Associados, Miguel Saraiva has spent over two decades establishing a prominent career in both national and international contemporary architecture. Graduating in Architecture from Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa in 1995, he founded the S+A studio in 1996, which quickly became a reference for its diverse portfolio, encompassing urban, residential, corporate, and rehabilitation projects.
Miguel Saraiva maintains a direct connection with the design and strategic direction of the studio’s projects, bringing his personal and sensitive vision to every intervention. Over the course of his career, he has received several awards — including Best Architecture Studio, Best Private Project, and the Career Achievement Award. In 2023, S+A was once again recognised as “Studio of the Year” at the Prémios Construir, among others.
With an approach that combines sustainability, architectural quality, and internationalisation, Miguel Saraiva is today one of the most influential figures in Portuguese architecture. The Riverline development, in its uniqueness, is a direct reflection of this vision: a project that balances sophistication, context, and innovation.
